Customised parasol cover - Premium protective cover for hanging & market parasols (waterproof & sealed)
A high-quality parasol is the centrepiece of the garden in summer. However, it is vulnerable when closed: Rain, UV radiation and green build-up damage the fabric. Standard covers from the DIY store are often too tight, too short or flap in the wind. Our customised protective cover has a special conical cut (narrow at the top, wide at the bottom). It adapts to the natural shape of your closed parasol - regardless of whether it is a classic market parasol, a large garden parasol or a cantilever parasol.
The detail that makes the difference: Sealed seams
The sewing thread is the weakest point in vertical protective covers - moisture is often drawn inside like a wick. We put an end to this:
- 100% Tight: Our seams are taped on the inside to make them watertight. Rainwater simply runs off without reaching the fabric of the umbrella.
- Oxford 600D: The tear-resistant fabric not only protects against moisture, but also blocks UV radiation that would otherwise cause your sunshade to fade.
- Long zip: We equip the cover with a robust, smooth-running zip to make it easy to put on (even with high umbrellas).
How to configure your shield protection
Enter the dimensions of your closed sunshade. Select the appropriate fastening for the bottom end (the hem):
The rubber cord all round is ideal for quick use in summer. If the sunshade is left outside in winter, we recommend the drawstring with stoppers or eyelets to lash the cover windproof to the pole and prevent it from „blowing up“ during storms.
Measuring instructions & the „circumference trick“
As a closed screen has no fixed edges, please measure the circumference in two places:
- Circumference at the top: At the narrowest point (tip).
- Circumference at the bottom: At the widest point (usually the lower end of the struts).
- Height: The complete length to be covered.
Our expert tip: Add at least 2-3 cm of „air“ to the circumference. The fabric of the parasol folds slightly differently each time. A small buffer ensures that you can close the zip without the fabric getting caught.
Preserving the value of your umbrella
- Genuinely waterproof: thanks to sealed seams and Oxford 600D.
- Tapered fit: Perfect fit for traffic light, market and garden parasols (narrow at the top, wide at the bottom).
- No fading: UV-stable material protects the colours of your sunshade.
FAQ +
Why are sealed seams so important for umbrellas?
As the cover is vertical, rainwater runs down the seams at high pressure. Without taping, water would penetrate through the sewing holes. Our sealed seams guarantee that your umbrella stays dry even in heavy rain.
Does the cover also fit on curved traffic light umbrellas?
Yes, because traffic light parasols (free-arm parasols) are often bulbous when closed and the poles hang sideways, our conical customisation is ideal. Simply measure the circumference at the widest point of the „package“.
Can I pack the umbrella wet?
No! Please always allow the sunshade to dry completely before closing the cover. If you trap moisture, mould stains or mildew can form on the sunshade fabric - despite the breathable cover.
